Thank You, Seva Squad

Every lamp lit at our temple, every plate of prasadam served, every smile at the door and every chair set out before a festival begins with one of our volunteers.

Seva is service offered without expectation, and our volunteers live it every week. They arrive early and stay late. They cook for hundreds, keep the shrines beautiful, guide families through crowded festival days, and quietly take care of what no one else noticed. Because of them, the Hindu Temple and Cultural Center of Iowa is more than a building on the banks of the Des Moines River. It is a home for our community and a welcoming place for everyone who walks through our doors.

Whether in the kitchen, at the mandir, in the parking lot, with our youth or behind a screen, every act of seva matters. To everyone who gives their hands, their hearts and their hours: thank you. May the blessings you share return to you and your families many times over.

“Seva is the highest form of worship.”
